When an email from Public Garden came in January this year, the first emotion I felt was disbelief. It is an honour to be invited to such an esteemed event, especially for a small label like Gypsied.
Coincidentally, this was around the same time the idea of the Gypsied Dress started firming up. With the timing falling perfectly in place, our first pop-up was to also be the debut of our apparel collection.
And debut, we did. Talking to people who stopped by our booth was a wonderful chance for us to introduce our work with traditional Asian textiles, raise awareness for slow and ethical fashion and listen to feedback. The time spent in conversation were truly the most meaningful for us over the two days.
There are not enough words to express how thankful I am for the opportunity to set up shop and to meet in person the people who have been supporting Gypsied over the years.
Slowly but surely - this is my motto for Gypsied.
