The shawl collared blouse takes inspiration from old-world kebayas from as early as the 1920s. At a time of trade and cultural exchange in the Nusantara, kebayas took on interesting garment details while retaining its modest silhouette.

Now available in long sleeves, featuring a split sleeves design that is both elegant & modern. Mandarin button closures add a distinctly Southeast Asian appeal, making this a Studio Gypsied classic.

Designed with an inner lapel, with extra metal snap buttons to prevent wardrobe mishaps! This piece is fully lined.

Anakha is wearing size S. Her measurements are 30" bust, 26" waist, 36" hips, 178cm.

The Sawunggaling is a mythical bird that is half peacock and half rooster. In classical batik philosophy, it represents the qualities of each bird — beauty, prosperity, luck and resilience. Merak is a remarkably intricate piece, with every motif carefully painted by hand. Each Merak piece takes approximately 14 days to craft.

Our mandarin button blouses are to be worn and washed with care. Gently soak in a small basin or sink of cold water for 10-15 seconds. Do not put into washing machine. Always turn garment inside out before soaking.

Silk screen batik with hand painted motifs on 100% mercerised cotton. Fully lined. Mandarin buttons.
